Volunteering
Be a Greeter
Since Music for Youth and its FREE Young Persons’ Concerts are run entirely by volunteers, many hands are needed to put on the show. At the Saturday afternoon concerts, greeters are needed to welcome concertgoers, hand out programs and help children register for the door prize drawing held at the end of each concert. To volunteer for the concerts, contact Misty Beyer at musicforyouthct@gmail.com.
Be a Sponsor
While the Young Persons’ Concerts are free to the public, there are considerable expenses in presenting these concerts — artists’ fees, mailing costs, etc. To help underwrite these expenses, please consider sponsoring a concert or a master class for our next season. To become a sponsor, or to make a contribution, contact Misty Beyer at 203-940-2776 or email musicforyouthct@gmail.com. All contributions are tax-deductible.
Checks may be sent to:

Be a Fund Raiser
Music for Youth produces an annual program book describing the season’s concerts and all of the organization’s activities. Ad revenue is an important funding source for the concert series! To help solicit ads for the program book or to place an ad in next year’s book, contact Misty Beyer using the information above.
Techies Wanted
The help of music-loving advocates with computer and internet savvy is always welcome. Photographers, too! To volunteer, phone 203-940-2776 or e-mail musicforyouthct@gmail.com.
Internship
Music for Youth continues to look for ways to engage music students in educational settings. MFY Interns can spend their Senior Internship in the Bridgeport schools presenting programs and mentoring band and strings students in class. This opportunity gives the intern valuable performance and teaching experience while enriching the music programs in the schools. These internships are monitored and scheduled by Music for Youth.
The interns help manage the Offutt Summer Music Series and Friday Night Young Artist Café. As moderators and hosts of these series, students gain experience “running the show”.
Student ensembles and soloists are connected with performance opportunities and engagement as presenters in schools. Music for Youth was able to connect a number of ensembles with performance opportunities in the community.
To get involved in any MFY Internship opportunities, please email musicforyouthct@gmail.com or call 203-940-2776. We want to hear from you!
